Simply Berlin

Russel Crowe plants trees
For almost thirty years Berlin has been celebrating unity. The wall stood between each and every one of us in Europe too. We built it. It had to be build so that it can be later dismantled piece by piece and we would know exactly which brick to take next.
Berliners learned their lessons, they then faced facts and understood how to forgive. But not forget. Seems this is what it takes to become the most booming capital of our times… Continue reading “Simply Berlin”

Three hours of Prague

Three hours of Prague
There are only a few cities left where you can actually get what you expect and Prague is one of them. No wonder why it is so popular. Sure it is lucky having a river, a hill with a castle upon it, romantic narrow streets, parks, super cute trams etc. but what really holds together all these can be described with one single word: hospitality. The devotion of Czech people to each other and to all the rest of us is somehow phenomenal.

First time abroad

Wandering in wonderful christmas market
First time abroad is always a remarkable experience. Well, if you are over four or five, or I don’t know how memory evolves. Ages ago I was in Vienna during wintertime way under my teens and a few things got so entrenched in my brain I can see and feel them right now when I close my eyes.
My first ever Christmas market on Maria-Theresa-Square. I wouldn’t even know why we traveled there but it sure was fantastic.

Chaos on a Road

Chaos Road in Bangkok
Life is large in Bangkok. And by that I mean it is particularly important for locals. Joy and constant level of happiness make it large, tasty bits and eating all day make it large, light and eternal sunshine, faith and two thousand years old religion. All billions of tiny pieces and how they become a whole system. So many things to see so many many things to do in this sizzling metropolis you literally have no idea what to start with.

Millions of songs

In Rome there are words and songs everywhere
Like everywhere in Rome I always read enscriptions, even though I don’t get a single word of them. On bridges, ancient buildings, churches, these are everywhere. I believe that writing was and is the biggest achievement of mankind. Our ability to express ourselves in written is evolving to a level far beyond control. If you write something and another person understands, from that moment on it is part of the lexicon of that language.

Fetid town?

Venice is a stinky city for known

Wonderful Venice. Shiny flourishing center of the nautical world in earlier centuries then down in the dumps after Vasco da Gama found a sea route to India. Still you can only admire its characteristics including water all over the place, the century old architecture, the Carnival, the Film Festival, all the constant vibe and of course the absence of cars which forces you to use your lower limbs or one of them Gondolas.

Peak of sorrow

Picture of the Ghost
When I was in Paris paying a visit to Square du Vert-Galant late at night I had the strangest vision. At the very end of the island I saw the ghost of a woman with her left foot in the water throwing what seemed tiny pieces of paper into it. Those sorrowful eyes and long-drawn movements had me wondering what on earth she was doing there so I approached her slowly but firmly. I delicately asked if I could sit down next to her and to tell me what the problem was.

Remote eruption

Quid

London’s main attractions are the Tower Bridge the Houses of Parliament the Rolling Quid the Eye and of course the Buckingham Palace.
What? You haven’t heard of the Buckingham Palace? Or is it the Quid? All right I’ll tell you then.
It happened on April 6th in the wonderful year of 1906. When he finished breakfast Terry tried to cheer his wife up a bit. Alas in vain.

Beast of the City Park

Beast of the City Park

City Park of Budapest was the first park on the globe opened to the public. And also home to a one of a kind creature simply called huneater. This savage ruthless beast from the Jurassic era had been sleeping for ages deep under the surface but was awakened by the construction works of the Millennium Underground. And ever since it’s been terrorizing the whole district. Dread follows its path when it appears on moonless nights from the big lake of the City Park. To hunt.
